Turn a photo into a black and white comic page. Dot Press draws ink lines over your image and fills the tones with halftone dots.
Your photo never leaves your device. Everything is processed in this page, and the same photo with the same settings always gives the same result.
Open a photo, or start from the sample scene.
This example is drawn live in your browser from the built-in sample scene, using the default settings.
Edges are found from the slope of a lightly blurred copy of your photo. Line cutoff skips weak edges, and line weight sets how bold the lines print.
A single black screen at an angle you choose. Dot pitch sets how fine the screen is, and it scales with the image size so a look stays the same at any size.
Tones are sorted into a set number of steps, as in printed tone sheets. Each step gets its own dot size, and the darkest areas fill solid black.
No. Your browser reads and processes the image, and it is never sent to a server. The page loads its fonts from Google Fonts, but your photo is not part of that.
The saved PNG matches the working size you pick, up to 2000 px on the long side. Smaller photos are not enlarged.
Yes. Dot pitch is measured against a 1600 px wide image and scaled to your working size, so a look stays the same at any size.
You keep whatever you make from your own photos. Make sure you have the right to use any photo you load.
Large photos take a moment, especially on a phone. Lower the working size while you adjust, then raise it before you save.
